THE ACTION OF DISARRANGING
2019, Brighton Beach
The project was centred around  Ann Veronica Jansenns, whose practice is inspired by the instability of cognitive processes. Forgetting time and space is a beach hut designed to be a curious, thought-provoking space through the use of mirroring, refraction of multicoloured light and varying transparency. By incorporating features such as these, a considerate change within the atmosphere occurred through sight, one of the senses.

Orthogonal drawings

The loft provides a perfect space for the tenant or visitor to sit and experience light interacting within the area and its ephemeral atmosphere.

Left: Short section, Right: Long section

The design includes multicoloured glass that changes when light interacts with it.

Laser-cut model

I explored a variety of model-making techniques, including laser cutting, which allowed me to gain more industry-related skills and have a clearer picture of how light interacts within the space.
